As usual, after searching for products and checking all possible reviews, finally decided to buy this Kodak M820 attributed to the balance of price and performance.

After opening the box, peel off screen protector, plug in and power it on. While enjoying its introduction show, I download >400 pictures from my picture folder that I took now and then by Sony W7, Nikon L4, Panasonic LZ7, and Kodak very early digital camera into a SD card with some MP3 music files too. It seems that all pictures and motion file taken by those camera are all been play very well with good picture resolution and clear sound. The picture is very bright and the sound is loud enough to be heard in all corner of a 20 x 20 living room.

So far, this frame has done what it supposed to do: showing pictures with some blending of music as bonus. The 800 x 480 resolution is so far the best on the available market with hope-to-be-cheaper price. 8" screen size is visible within reasonable distance, however, buy larger one if you can afford and hang it on the wall.

I do enjoy this digital picture frame, and so will you.

This frame is a little fancier than what I was looking for originally, but when it appeared on Amazon as a Gold Box Deal, I couldn't pass it up. This is a good looking frame with an excellent picture quality. It can be set up to display the image in it's original form, or the frame can auto zoom the photo to fill the screen. Mine is set up for the auto zoom and it's effective on about 98% of the pictures loaded. I would adjust the other 2% slightly if possible, but I can live with the auto settings. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this frame has an auto on/off feature. I have mine on my desk at work and it turns on before I come in, in the morning and shuts off when I leave for the day. I disable the auto on/off on Fridays, so it doesn't run unnecessarily when I'm not in the office. I can't comment on the bundled software as it's not compatible with Macintosh. However, if you're considering the purchase of this frame and you're a Mac user, don't fret. I used a thumb drive to transfer some initial files to the internal memory. There's also a mini USB connection on the frame that should allow you to connect and synch photos to the internal memory. I simply used a thumb drive to copy some photos to the frames internal memory before my SD card arrived. The frame automatically reduces the original file size in the transfer to conserve valuable internal memory space. Upon receipt of the SD card, I loaded it up with the photos I wanted and the frame instantly recognized it. 100% satisfied with this frame.

This is a wonderful product and very easy for Mom to use after I set it up. I loaded digital and scanned photos on to a SD card, added in a few of Mom's favorites songs in a MP3 format and even choose a few .mov video clips. It was all pretty straight forward. I inserted the SD card into the photo frame and choose some display settings such as number of seconds to display each pictures and random transitions and whether the photo is displayed in original aspect or "stretched" to fit the entire displyable area. All Mom has to do is turn it on using either the supplied remote or the switch on the side. Mom can mute the sound or make higher or lower. Overall, she was very happy with this product! A more techy savvy Mom can do this all by herself.

Went in with my sibs on this for Mom's 80th birthday present. At the big party, we all took pictures with our digital cameras including a video of the birthday song and toast. The next day we gave it to her with all the pictures and the video loaded for her. It was simple to load and the touch interface is easy for her to understand and use.

The larger size and fine image quality are easy on her eyes, yet it is compact and light weight enough for her to take along to show her friends. With her, digital photos are all well and fine but she likes to have something in hand to show off.

I was happy to see that she can show photos directly from the USB drive or camera chips. That way she can view other photos without having to mix them up with the birthday pix. The image is large and bright enough that she can see it running a slide show from across the room and the remote lets her stop and start it without getting up.

In summary, the quality and features of this frame were way more than we expected at the price. Unless it stops working next week, I'd recommend it to anyone without reservation.

I think this frame is great, it's a great little gift for someone that doesn't have alot of room or for an office desk. I think the resolution is great and the features are great too. It's very easy to work, I didn't need the instruction book at all. My slideshow shows every pic on my sd card so I'm not sure what other peoples problems are when they say it only holds 10 pics. This is not true. Great deal for the price.

For the price this is an excellent buy considering all the features and file storage size in this frame. The picture quality is really good. I gave this as a gift and preloaded photos on to frame. The process is very easy using the USB cord or an SD card. The process was a little trickier using the wireless feature you need to purchase the WiFi dongle and the instructions in the user's manual are not very good. Set up was easy and the touch screen is a nice feature however the response time is a bit slow so be patient when you are navigating through screens or you will lock the frame up and have to turn it off and restart the frame. After I gave the gift I found out the remote never worked and in order to find out if the problem was the remote of the frame you have to send everything back. The person I gave it to decided to not worry about it and just use the touch frame navigation. A tech savvy person should have no problems but a novice may need some assistance if they want to utilize most of the features available. In all, the frame is worth the price if it were just a basic digital picture frame. It is an excellent price with all the features provided you can deal with some frustration.

Everyone that has seen this new frame sitting on my desk has remarked how amazing the photo's look on it. Three other people in my office have bought it now and are just as thrilled with it. I love the images in full screen, but there is a multi picture view where four photos are displayed at once and continue to cycle through the images that is another amazing way to display your photos. Video on the frame looks incredible and the sound quality is amazingly good also. Sound on the video is very clear and even music sounds much better than I expected. The remote works well and the navigation throught the menus is very easy to figure out even without the manual. The ability to set the frame to turn on and off at preset times is a very nice feature as well, since I am currently using it at work, so I can have it turn on only during my weekday/8-5 work shift. I am so happy with this purchase, I just ordered two more before I wrote this review. I highly recommend this product. Good job Amazon!

Eden Valley Guest Ranch purchased a Smartparts 15" digital frame over a year ago. I had never heard of the company, did considerable research and used many reviews. We are rural and reliability is more important to me than ease of use. This product was a good fit for us as our usual show is about 250 pictures, which repeat continuously. I change the show for each event adding and deleting pictures in a special file on computer. Files names have numeric codes in front part of filename to ensure my photo order. Then I delete the old show off the frame and load the new one in through the Optimizer program it came with via USB. Manual is cryptic. I send frame in a special carry case we developed with one of our representatives and all they do at an event is set it up and turn it on. The frame ran most days last summer and has gone to many events. It looks professional and we get many great comments about it. This frame has worked well.

I purchased this frame to replace a Sunpak 15" frame we've had for years. We chose this one because of the size, price and black wood frame. My wife didn't want anything too modern (high tech) looking and this fit the bill. When the box arrived I thought it was going to be way too big but the box is huge for the extra packing. The frame is 16"W X 13.1"L and 2" thick, not including the stand. I remember the days when we thought a 15" monitor was huge but a 15" frame for $200 is an awesome thing. I put in my 2 GB flash drive and the frame automatically started the slide show and the pictures look great on it. The features are nice and automatic on/off are a bonus. As cheap as flash drives and SD cards are now, I wouldn't want to pay the extra money for internal memory. This frame is huge, looks great and my wife loves it. We are buying two more for her parents and mine.

I've been researching large digital frames for almost a year. My priorities were a large size frame; a good quality picture, viewable from different angles; a 4:3 ratio, since that's the standard size I shoot; and a random shuffle mode. The Opteka 15" unit had all those & the majority of the reviews were positive.

The only thing I was worried about, based on many reviews on this site, was that the power adapter wouldn't fit into its compartment. Although the frame was a Christmas present, I opened it as soon as I received it to check it out. I removed the single screw holding the door over the rear adapter compartment, plugged the cord into the unit, slid the adapter into its slot in the compartment, and replaced the door. I have no idea what some folks are trying to do with that adapter that they can't get it in. It seems obvious that it needs to go in flat side down, and not with one of the larger dimensions upward. And regarding the comment about a 6 inch cord  mine has a 5 ft. cord.

I've been very impressed with the picture quality and operation so far. Personally, I think using the remote is a little more intuitive than using the buttons on the back. The picture quality remains a lot better than other brands I've seen when viewing from an angle. The only recommendation I would make is for some longer time settings in the shuffle mode.

All in all a very good unit.
